Bible Study Tools
One of our themes a few years ago in the Sr. High was "Growing in Personal Devotions." During those weeks we talked about the tools that are available to help in studying the Bible for yourself. Here are some resources to get you started if you need some help. I hope they're helpful!
Online Bible Reading Plans
http://www.biblegateway.com/resources/readingplans/
This website will give you a few Bible reading plan options along with reminders to help you read through the Old/New Testaments in a year. Multiple translations available.
http://www.gnpcb.org/esv/devotions/every.day.in.the.word/
This website provides a daily reading out of the English Standard Version to read through the Bible in a year. It also provides audio narration to use while reading.
http://www.gnpcb.org/esv/devotions/one.year.tract/
Another reading plan to take you through the Bible in a year out of the English Standard Version. This plan will have you read through the Old Testament once, and the New Testament and Psalms twice in a year.
http://www.gnpcb.org/esv/devotions/chronological/
A plan for reading through the Bible in chronological order. Also out of the ESV.
E-Sword (Free Bible study program)
http://www.e-sword.net/
From the e-sword home page look for "downloads." You'll need the program itself and then you can download whatever different components you want from the available Bibles, Commentaries, Dictionaries, etc. For a list of suggested resources to start with, see the "Tools for Personal Bible Study" handout above.
You may want to take advantage of the training demos they provide as well. You can find those here: http://www.e-sword.net/training.html.
Other Online Resources:
www.bible.logos.com
A few dozen different Bible translations and paraphrases all online. No downloading required; text is read and searched through the web.
www.biblestudytools.com
Multiple Bible versions, commentaries, dictionaries, and encyclopedias browsable through the web.
